Getting Started for Users¶

This guide shows you how to discover AI models on WasiAI, run inferences with pay-per-use, and purchase licenses for unlimited access.

Prerequisites¶

To use WasiAI, you need:

1. A wallet or social account for authentication
2. USDC on Avalanche Fuji for payments (testnet)
3. Small amount of AVAX for license purchases (gas fees)

Good news: Pay-per-inference is gasless. You only sign a message, no gas required!

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet¶

1. Go to wasiai.io
2. Click Connect Wallet
3. Choose your preferred method:

Once connected, your address appears in the navbar.

Step 2: Get Testnet Funds¶

For Avalanche Fuji testnet:

Get AVAX (for gas)¶

1. Go to Avalanche Faucet
2. Enter your wallet address
3. Request testnet AVAX

Get USDC (for payments)¶

1. Use the Circle USDC Faucet
2. Select Avalanche Fuji
3. Request testnet USDC

Step 3: Browse the Catalog¶

The model catalog is your starting point for discovering AI capabilities.

Browsing Options¶

• Categories: Filter by model type (Classification, Generation, Analysis)
• Search: Find models by name or description
• Sort: By popularity, price, or newest

Model Cards¶

Each model card shows: - Name and description - Category badge - Price per inference - Reputation score (if available)

Step 4: Run an Inference (Pay-Per-Use)¶

This is the core WasiAI experience: pay only for what you use.

How to Run¶

1. Open a model's detail page
2. Find the "Run Model" panel
3. Enter your input (text, data, etc.)
4. Click Run Model

What Happens¶

1. You click "Run Model"
       ↓
2. Your wallet prompts you to sign (no gas!)
       ↓
3. Payment is processed (~1 second)
       ↓
4. AI inference runs
       ↓
5. Result appears with transaction link

Understanding the Result¶

After inference, you'll see: - Result: The AI output (classification, text, scores) - Latency: How long the inference took - Transaction: Link to verify payment on-chain - Feedback: Option to rate the result (👍/👎)

2. Approve USDC spending (first time only)
3. Confirm the purchase transaction
4. License NFT is minted to your wallet

With a license, you get: - Unlimited inferences (no per-call fees) - Ownership: NFT in your wallet - Tradeable: Sell on secondary markets - Proof: Verifiable on-chain access

Step 6: Manage Your Licenses¶

Viewing Licenses¶

1. Go to My Licenses in the navigation
2. See all your license NFTs
3. View details: model, rights

License Rights¶

Each license grants specific rights: - API Access: Call the inference endpoint - Download Access: Download model artifacts (if available)

Providing Feedback¶

Your feedback helps improve the ecosystem.

How to Rate¶

After each inference: 1. Click 👍 if the result was helpful 2. Click 👎 if the result was unhelpful

Why It Matters¶

• Feedback is recorded on-chain (ERC-8004)
• Builds the model's reputation score
• Helps other users discover quality models
• Incentivizes creators to maintain quality

Understanding Payments¶

Pay-Per-Inference (x402)¶

• Gasless: You sign a message, facilitator pays gas
• Instant: Payment settles in ~1 second
• Transparent: Every payment verifiable on-chain
• Micropayments: As low as $0.001 per call

License Purchases¶

• Gas required: Small AVAX fee for transaction
• One-time approval: Approve USDC once per model
• Instant mint: License NFT appears immediately

1. Go to your Dashboard
2. See Inference History with all calls
3. Click any transaction to view on Snowtrace

Tips for Users¶

Finding Good Models¶

• Check reputation scores (higher = better)
• Read descriptions carefully
• Look at inference count (popular = tested)
• Try with small inputs first

Saving Money¶

• Use pay-per-inference for occasional use
• Buy licenses if you'll use frequently
• Compare prices across similar models

Do I need crypto experience?¶

No! You can sign up with Google, Apple, or email. A wallet is created for you automatically.

Is my data private?¶

Your inference inputs are sent to the model endpoint. WasiAI does not store your inputs permanently.

Can I get a refund?¶

Payments are final once confirmed on-chain. Test with small inputs first.

What if a model doesn't work?¶

Provide negative feedback (👎) and try a different model. Report issues to the creator.
